Hi Kimarve, thank you for contacting PC Tools.

In regards to your query, the second button is Registry Mechanic's "Optimize Your System" function applies a set of tweaks and patches to the Windows Registry that are designed to optimize and improve system performance. These tweaks and patches can result in improved Windows startup and shut down speed, and better handling of hung processes and process termination.

The Optimize Your System / Reset Optimization button alternates between applying the set of tweaks and patches and reverting these changes to their original condition.

MrFreeze,

I have sent you a PM in regards to this. I provides a full explanation of what "optimize" does. Please have a look at it when you have a moment.

This is what I was talking about the other day (http://www.pctools.com/forum/showthread.php?p=152874#post152874). Surely the answer to MrFreeze's question doesn't involve any personal details, license code, etc. So why answer it via a PM? Why not post it on the forum so everyone can get the benefit of it?

OK, rant over. :)

Hi All,

Adding from what support has already mentioned, you may find the following information useful.

The Optimize Your System / Reset Optimization button alternates between applying the set of tweaks and patches and reverting these changes to their original condition.

To optimize your system, click the Optimize Your System button on the Main Status screen. The tweaks and patches are applied almost instantly to the registry and the button changes to Reset Optimization once applied.

Listed are the tweaks applied to the registry.
