<H2>Problem with switching between Windows user accounts?
PC Tools AntiVirus does not support the 'switching user' feature at this stage. This is to avoid potential conflicts between multiple instances of security products running on each user account as this may affect on the system stability negatively.
We recommend you to log off from an user account first and log in with other user account. Please note that switching between the user accounts may cause Error 102. Please refer to Error code 102, if you are getting this error message.

This occurs when there is a communication failture between the PC Tools AntiVirus Console (PCTAV.EXE) and its service engine (PCTAVSvc.EXE). It usually happens if some configurations on your system is not accepted by PC Tools AntiVirus.

I have just had to uninstall AVG (Antivirus) Free Edition 7.1 from a workgrouped Win2k Adv Srv {SP 4, build 2195}, running Certificate Services (amongst other things; acts as an ICS server), due to the fact that the latest AVG 7.5 Free Edition does not support Win2k Adv Srv. As such, I installed PC Tools AntiVirus™ 3.1 Free Edition using a local administrator account and ran a full scan without any problems.
I then attempted to start a Terminal Services session (Srv in Remote Administration mode) from a Win2k Pro {SP4} workstation - using TS Client 5, in the same workgroup, and got a PC Tools AntiVirus Error message stating; PC Tools AntiVirus has encountered a error. Please reboot your PC. If the problem persists, please contact support with error 104. On pressing 'OK' a similar error message pops up stating; PC Tools AntiVirus has encountered a error and must close down. On pressing 'OK' the PC Tools AntiVirus Icon is missing from the 'System Tray' of the TS window (still present on Srv console), but the session can continue without it running. If I try to start a similar TS session from a WinXP Pro {SP2} workgrouped PC, using RDP 6.0, I get a similar sequence of events with added warnings about the Srv only supporting the RDP security layer.
When I ran AVG Free Edition 7.1 on the Srv I didn't get this problem - nor did I notice any other problems with it.
Am I likely to be vulnerable to virus infection running the TS session in this way? Will I have remote administration problems with any possible windows services that may be running on the Srv? On the Srv I have activated all OnGuard Features; File, Email & Internet, though the Srv doesn't host a mail srv, mail client (that's used), web or ftp site (that's used). Will the secondary logon feature; 'Run As', still work on the Srv?
I would be interested in known compatibility issues between PC Tools AntiVirus™ 3.1 (Free Edition) and Win2k Srv (& Adv Srv, etc.).
Thankyou
ps. I realise that the 'free edition' is intended primarily for standalone systems.
