I have created shortcuts to launch applications using the start command under command prompt so that I can set their initial priority level to below_normal or low.
I have noticed that applications launched via a shortcut through this method do not recieve the rules listed specifically for the firewall.
e.g. a shortcut for C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe /c start "Example App" /belownormal "c:\path\exapp.exe"
will not behave properly (per the exapp.exe rules in firewall).
Any advice? I'd hate to have one set of rules for all apps loaded via start or the command prompt, it would seem to be a large security issue.
