It does not look like anyone else is having the problem that I am having. I finialy learned how to burn the disc properly, and now as I reboot, the screen starts with "no emulation" on the second line, pauses, then "boot the kernel" displays. After that, I get a couple screens of scrolling text, after which the whole process starts over again and runs just the same.
It is an endless loop until I eject the CD during a start up, at which time windows starts normaly.
I thought it was a bad download or burn, so I downloaded again and burned a new disc which gave me the same results.
If I read the CD, I see the following files on it: Boot, Licenses, Read me, Stage1, Stage2.
Anyone know of a solution?
I am trying to run this on an HP Pavilion 510n - vintage late 1999 with Windows XP home SP2

Does your box have a VESA 2.0 graphics card? It sounds like the video driver cannot initialize the graphics mode.

Sorry for the delay. I've been looking for information about the display information in the desktop unit. The best that I can come up with is that it is an Intel 82810E Graphics Controller with driver version 6.13.1.2872 dated 8/8/2001. I do not know if it is VESA 2.0 compliant or not, I can not seem to find any of that information. I did note that there was a version 6.7 driver update on the web, however, the computer search states that I have the most up to date version. I will have to research that at a later date.
Just for kicks, I did download and burn another disk and ran it on the laptop. The program ran fine, although it took about 6 hours. Therefore, I know that I have a good disk. I tried to run that disk in the desktop unit, and came up with the same endless loop problem.
Sounds like my desktop unit is too old to run this software. Something has gotten ahold of it, as it is the slowest it has ever been. I did wipe the system clean about a year ago and start over, so it's not from years of trash build up.
