Had been using SDv4 and then SDv5 beta3 without any problems until I installed SDv5 beta4. First start up after installing beta4 my McAfee AntiVirus promptly disabled. I then went offline and ran a McAfee VirusScan which showed up a New Malware.z Trojan infection which I removed. Then ran a SD full scan which found a Hotbar infection but told me it couldn't be removed when I tried to fix it. The next morning I tried to connect to the internet and this time my McAfee Firewall disabled. I went offline again and ran the SD scan which was clean, no sign of the Hotbar infection which couldn't be removed after the previous scan. I decided to reinstall SD4 to see if this was simply a problem with SD5 B4 but same problem with the Firewall shutting down. I noticed that it came back up several minutes later so unchecked the "scan on startup" box and havn't had any problems since, but McAfee still shuts down if I recheck the box. Havn't tried reinstalling SD5 again, I'm a bit wary! All AntiVirus and SD scans have been clean apart from the usual cookies since I picked up the New Malware/Hotbar infectins when my AntiVirus switched off. Any connection between the two? As I never had this problem before I installed SD5 b4 why is it now affecting SD4 which ran without any problems before?

Should have mentioned that when the Firewall goes off I get the following on screen message "McAfee Personal Firewall could not access shared memory region". Hope that helps.

Hi Dark Star,

This should now be resolved. Could you please upgrade to the latest version of Beta 5.0.0.167 (http://www.pctools.com/spyware-doctor/beta/).

If you are still having problems with McAfee, please let me know.
