How do I completely uninstall the Firewall.
After uninstall has been run there are still files and regestry components
left and I cannot run PCGuard the comes from my ISP.

Assuming you are using XP and have System Restore running (Can't imagine why anyone wouldn't), there would have been a restore point created when you installed the firewall. Reverting back to that point, or one before that, should work.

Hi keithbro and Roadkill,

If you would like to remove all traces of the Firewall software, please follow the instructions below:

Go to Start-> Run-> Type regedit-> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-> Software-> PC Tools-> Firewall-> Delete.

Cheers,
Chippa

I agree with the regedit method and that would be my preferred choice if I were removing PC Tools firewall, or all traces of any application, from one of my systems. The reason I did not initially suggest that was because many users are not comfortable (or knowledgable about) modifying the registry.

While I agree with you, I would also suggest that anyone electing to go the regedit route make a backup of their registry first. I use ERUNT for this.

A safe way to delete entries from the registry is to do:
Edit > Find, then write the name of the application you want to remove and when it's found simply delete it.
When the first entry found is deleted you can press F3 to find more entries from that program and continuing deleting found entries until all traces of the program are deleted.

Absolutely, but I would still recommend making a backup of the registry first. Mistakes can still be made and you don't get a chance to "undo" your changes or edits to the registry.

Nice theory, but PC Tools Firewall appears to be under "Firewall" - do a search for that and there could be plenty of unrelated entries that come up.

Definitely a good idea to back your registry up first regardless.
