Hi,
Is the AV plugin meant to run with my current anti-virus software or am I suppossed to uninstall my current anti-virus first. Usually you aren't supposed to run 2 AV programs on a cpu and when I started to install the plugin I didn't see any notice or recommedation concerning this. I just want to make sure.
Thanks

Hi gNarNar,
It is not necessary to uninstall your other Anti-Virus software, however if you experience any conflicts between the Anti-Virus softwares, you may need to uninstall the other Anti-Virus software then.

As a matter of interest has anyone had any conflicts with installing the AV plug in whilst using another AV or internet security? I have had no conflict using ZASS 7!

Hi
I had issues with using Symantec Antivirus Corporate edition (v10). Had Microsoft C++ runtime errors and during fullscan on SDv5 the real-time scanning process on SAV disappered (there was a pop-up telling me this). I just uninstalled SAV and now everythings fine, SDv5 detected my EICAR.COM test so im satisfied.
The latest version of SpyDoctor which now has AV in it does not link Synmantec AV corperate edition. Causes Symantec AV to crash. If I disable AV in SpyDoctor then the crash still happens and I can not find a way of running Symantec AV.
Our corperate security policy insists on running Symantec AV so we can not simply uninstall and switch to this new feature of SpyDoctor AV, especially as we have no details about what enghine you are using and how goo it fairs against the market leaders.
Can this issue to reaised with the developers ?
Thanks
Simon

Hi Simon,
When does Symantec AV corporate crash? During a scan, upon start-up, does it lock-up/freeze etc? If you disable SD, does it still crash?
Once I receive some additional info, I will definitely escalate this issue. Is anyone else having this problem?

I had problems with the AV plug-in and Symantec Corp Ed 10.1.5.5000
After the two had run together and the former had been included in a scan, on reboot Symantec failed to load RTVScan with C++ runtime errors. I could not repair or re-install it after this happened, even with a sweep of Registry Mechanic and a deletion of a remaining Program Files folder; had to use Ghost to get it back!
SAV crashs on startup when it opens the tray application. If you disable SD it does not appear to help. If you just disable the AV part of SD that does not help either.
Thanks
Simon
