Hi ormesher@lanway
If your problem is a missing DLL, you can go here (www.down-dll.com) and download your missing file ;)
If you don't find the file you need, the try installing SD again.

Can you please navigate to C:\WINDOWS\system32\vbscript.dll then rename "vbscript.dll" to vbscript.dll.old and finally run a system repair from the CD by following below instructions. Please note that by doing this troubleshoot is to allow Windows Repair from the CD to replace the corrupted vbscript.dll that was changed to vbscript.dll.old.

Please read carefully You can print a text version for reference.

1) Boot the computer using the XP CD. You may need to change the boot order in the system BIOS so the CD boots before the hard drive. Check your system documentation for steps to access the BIOS and change the boot order.
When you see the "Welcome To Setup" screen, you will see the options below
This portion of the Setup program prepares Microsoft
Windows XP to run on your computer:

To setup Windows XP now, press ENTER.

To repair a Windows XP installation using Recovery Console, press R.

To quit Setup without installing Windows XP, press F3.

Press "Enter" to start the Windows Setup.

do not choose "To repair a Windows XP installation using the Recovery Console, press R", (you Do Not want to load Recovery Console).

2) Accept the License Agreement and Windows will search for existing Windows installations.

3) Select the XP installation you want to repair from the list and press "R" to start the repair.

If "Repair" is not one of the options.

4) Proceed with the install and select "Leave the current file system intact (no changes)

After completing these steps your system should be able boot back into Windows.

Will this solution work for the hhctrl.ocx problem as well or does that require another fix? Richardltarrant@hotmail.com

Hi Tarrant,

Try the following:

** Update your Visual Basic Run Time components in Windows **

1. Visit Microsoft's site below.

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=7B9BA261-7A9C-43E7-9117-F673077FFB3C&displaylang=en

2. Click the Download button, save the file to your computer's Desktop, then close all programs on your system.

3. Double-click the downloaded file, VB6.0-KB290887-X86.exe to extract the vbrun60sp6.exe to the Desktop. Double-click on this to install the update.

4. Restart your computer.

5. Next, update these Microsoft System scripting files:

** For Windows 95, 98, NT4, ME **

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=0A8A18F6-249C-4A72-BFCF-FC6AF26DC390&displaylang=en

** For Windows 2000 and XP **

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=c717d943-7e4b-4622-86eb-95a22b832caa

(If the above link is on two lines, please copy the first half into the browser address bar and then then copy the second line and append it to the first line already in the browser address bar. There are no spaces in the address)

6. Close all programs and double-click the downloaded file to install.
