With these Beta(s) should we uninstall and then reinstall the upgrade or can we install over the current version

I don't know if it really matters but I uninstalled 4.0 and made sure the folder was deleted before installing the beta. Upgrading by installing over the top can sometimes cause problems (I've seen this with other programs) so I always take the safer route :)

Thanks - I suspect that procedure would be the best - but don't you love short
cuts

Yeah, I love shortcuts but I don't like being bitten and always take this path especially with beta software.

Hi All
Just a little note for the developers my S.doctor beta 5 does not see the antivirus avast or the pctools av and the Pctools Firewall does not see S.doctor5 beta.

Are some features are reduce respect the S.doctor4 on the onguard like the messaging monitor ?

Thanks

Hi arilo76,

Thanks for the info.

SDv5 Beta does not display other AntiVirus programs if you have these installed. It should however display PCTAV, if you have this installed. We will do further testing on this.

As for the Firewall displaying SDv5 Beta, this will be fixed is the next version of the Firewall Plus.

Could you please elaborate on "Are some features are reduce respect the S.doctor4 on the onguard like the messaging monitor ?"

Hi arilo76,

The "Immunize now" (Status screen) from SDv4 has now changed to "Computer Immunization is now ON" in SDv5 Beta.

You may not see some of the OnGuard tools in SDv4 as these have been combined with other tools in SDv5 Beta. Take for example Cookie Guard from SDv4 is now combined with Site Guard. To check - you can simply click on the actual tool and information regarding this tool is displayed on the right hand side of the tool.

Example:
Site Guard monitors and blocks the following:
- Downloads from supsicious sites
- Suspected spyware sites
- Phishing sites
- Malicious cookies from all browsers

Hope this answers your question.
