Hi all,
I've installed PC Tools AntiVirus and in the menu on the left appears the word in red "Purchase".
I click on "Purchase Online" and it takes me to the purchase screen on PC Tools page.
So my question is: Where is the free edition  or if it is like the firewall, where can I get a free license code?
Thanks.

Hey charlespt,
I've been running AntiVirus free for awhile now and while it does have a purchase button it continues to function and remove virus's. Looking on the Free AntiVirus page it looks like its a non-expiring trial version and the paid version just has faster updates and more support options.

Ok, I get it ;)
So, the free edition is the paid version but without buying it and registering.
I've used it for a day and I must say it disappointed me very much :(
There are lots of improvements to do.
Hope the next version is much better.

Hi charlespt,
In which areas would you like to see improvements?
Any feedback/suggestions you can provide will help us to improve PCTAV further.

Hi Anthony
The problems I saw in AntiVirus were:
1: The Scanning engine process uses large amount of memory
2: The full scan takes lots of time to complete
3: When OnGuard is ON, not only my web browser (Mozilla Firefox) is very slow loading pages but also my pc performance is affected.
The pc performance is affected by being very slow opening folders and executing programs and sometimes the explorer uses around 80% of CPU
These were the problems I saw when using PC Tools AntiVirus.
If improvements could be done it would be a much better anti virus.
I'm not saying it's not a good anti virus but it could be better.
That's all.

1. This issue is being addressed and should be fixed in the Feb release.
2 & 3. I'll have to pass this info on and have this investigated further.
