I had downloaded the beta and installed it. When I ran a scan (full I think), it proceeded normally for a time then halted. I thought it might just be at a cab file - as these often take a bit longer, but the sytem just hung there for ages.
I retried it twice with the same result, then unloaded it and re-instlled it with the same result. Finally I unloaded it all again fully and re-installed V4 which works fine - at least it completes the scan. Any thoughts?
I think I will stay clear of the beta till bugs are oot. Has anyone else had this?

Hi Tanimoto,
I haven't seen this happen but have noticed that scanning large archive files can take a while.
Was the GUI responsive at all when the scan got stuck, and was it a big .cab file? Also, did you have the AntiVirus plugin installed?
Thanks.

Tsuki:
Thanks - no I was not using the new AV module, as I continue to use my AVG AV which I am happy with. I do not believe it was a cab file - as you indicate on any scanning system these can take a long time especially if they are MS or major program cabs. This was very much longer eg around 15-30 mins. The blue roundel which flickers to show progress was flickering but the progress ribbon had stopped as had the count - I cant remember exactly but I think it was around 9500 items - in other words only a relatively small portion of the whole. I think typically it does over 150,000 items on my machine.
The second time I tried it it stopped at precisely the same point. When i unloaded and removed V5 Beta and reinstalled v4. I did a complete scan and it sailed past the point and completed clean. With continued updates since it has also continued to work fine.
Puzzling???

Tanimoto,
Do you remember which point the scan gets stuck at? (eg Disk Scanner, Startup Scanner, etc)
