Ok... After I received SD I ran it and AVG Anti-spyware, A-Squared free, A-squared anti-dialer, SUPER Anti-Spyware and Spyware Terminator. I usually do that once a month but since SD detected dialers I wanted to make sure it was a FP.
I noticed my computer re-booted sometime inbetween... So I started eliminating programs and right now... Just a few moments before I posted this... I ran ONLY A-squared free, A-squared anti-dialer and a SD intelli-scan. I went to bed and woke up with my computer re-booted (I knew because the scans were closed and ST was in the tray... And I de-activated it before the scan). I shutdown SD and ran all the scans and they completed fine... So there must be some problem with A-Squared Free, A-Squared Anti-Dialer and Spyware Doctor. Though I don't know what. I haven't tried running ONLY A-squared free and SD scans at the same time... And same for the Anti-Dialer. But there is some confliction... This is with beta 2.

Thanks for the info btman.
We'll need to investigate this further.
I'll get back to you regarding this.

While using beta 3 I did the 3 scans last night and same thing happened... All scans closed and the computer was booted up and Spyware Terminator was in the tray even though I de-activated it before the scans ran.
And my father couldn't receive emails by Incredimail. I uninstalled SD for a quick fix... And he received them all.

Hi Btman,
From the list of anti-spyware programs - SD, AVG Anti-spyware, A-Squared free, A-squared anti-dialer, SUPER Anti-Spyware and Spyware Terminator, you are running way to many anitspyware programs and this increases the chances of conflicts. It will be very difficult to work out which program is causing the rebooting as it could be anything.
But judging from your reply, it sounds like Spyware Terminator could be the culprit. Did you disable this upon start up? and it still displayed itself after the reboot?
Cheers,
Chippa

No ST has nothing to do with it. ST opens on startup, thats normal... But I usually close the realtime protection of it as I'm not a fan of HIPS..... So when I ran the 3 scans and my computer had nothing running ( like all the scans were closed) and ST was back in the tray (like it was supposed to be on every startup) then I knew the computer had restarted because I closed ST before running the scans.

Hi btman,
We are in the process of trying to replicate this issue at the moment.
Once I receive any additional info, I will pass this on.
Cheers,
Anthony

We have replicated all the security software from the list you have provided and were unable to get the same results, ie, the rebooting.
To help us investigate this further, could you please provide some info on what kind of infections SD has detected. I ran ONLY A-squared free, A-squared anti-dialer and a SD intelli-scan. I went to bed and woke up with my computer re-booted
Also if you could provide a malware log. This would be great. Please note, SDv5 Beta does not have the Malware detective tool.
To run the tool:
Tools-> Malware Dectective-> Run Tool.
Once I receive the ticket number, I will be able to follow this up.

Please note, SDv5 Beta does not have the Malware detective tool.
Will the final version have it back? Or is it being removed permanently?

Im going to try it again... And you ran a-squared anti-dialer, a-squared free and ran a full system scan with SD at the same time right? Not individually.
Need to download SD Beta again... Had it removed and haven't gotten Beta 4 yet

Just received confirmation that all 6 programs - Spyware Doctor, a squared free, a squared anti- dialer, super antispyware, spyware terminator and AVG anti-syware were performed at the same time and no problems occured. The system went almost to a stand still however.
It is advised that you do not perform a scan with more then 1 software at any time as this increases the chances of crashes and system hangs.

Yes I know it leaves the system to run very slowly... Thats why I ran them @ night...And I only ran all 6 because I wanted to make sure I wasn't infected with one of the FPs I found.. The porn dialer one lol.. It may have crashed due to the Bearshare FP also, because one time I watched it a little bit... Then fell asleep... But it kept saying things like it was blocking Bearshare from doing something... I can't entirely remember... I'll re-try the scans tomorrow and see if I can get my past results lol.

Ok PC Tools... Today or tomorrow I'm going to disable restart on system failure and hopefully the BSOD shall show up.

Tomorrow you will have your BSOD error message... I had it today, but my friend restarted the computer... But he said there was one. I ran A-Squared 2.1 free deep scan, a-squared 2.1 anti-dialer scan... And SD 5 beta.. 6 I think... And I also have rootkit scanning on with SD5.
Also with SD on startup, Kaspersky and MSN take a really long time to load... It's annoying... Can the delay on startup be fixed? I no it's SD causing this because I disabled it, logged off and logged back on... And it started up MUCH quicker.

Hey btman,
There's a beta 7, so you should probably download and install that one so that they know whether the problem is happening in the latest version.
btman

It's happened from beta 1-6 and they haven't been able to re-create it yet. It will happen with beta 7.
EDIT: After smart updating before I was going to hopefully get the BSOD again.. It said I had to restart the computer... So I uninstalled beta 6, and have installed Beta 7. Am working on getting the BSOD right now.

OK here it is.... BSOD after running A-Squared free deep scan, A-Squared anti-dialer scan, SD Full system scan and AVG Anti-Spyware complete system scan.
Blah blah blah all the usual... Then..
Technical Information:
***STOP:0x0000008E(0xC0000005,0x8054B339,0xBIF06A7 0,0x00000000)
Then the other usual info for a Windows XP BSOD.
I bolded the 7 and the 0 because it kept putting a space in between them

Sounds to me like you're rather overdoing the security stuff, btman. You certainly shouldn't be scanning with all those programs at once. It's not wonder you're getting errors if you are.
If you run an SD scan on its own do you still get errors?

wow you have a lot of anti-spyware/antivirus programs running. Looks the error message has something to do with your memory/ram issues.

Hey btman - with your BSOD - does it show the name of the driver this fault exploded from?
That 0x0000008E code shows some driver had an unhandled exception -- probably help narrowing it down if the misbehaving one is nice enough to show itself.

I could run 7 scans at once before and nothing like this happened. Now I run 3 and I get the BSOD.
Arden, it's only when I run SD, A-squared free and A-Squared anti-dialer. 3 scans isn't much.
LLizard... I don't think so. Do you want all of my computer specs?

Have you tried running the scans individually.
SD, A-squared free and A-Squared anti-dialer on their own?
Any error messages?

Never. Individually they run fine. I could run these scans all at once before (Though I only have done it 3 times lol after being heavily infected):
1. Adaware
2. Spybot
3. AVG
4. Kaspersky
5. SUPER
6. A-Squared
7. A-Squared Anti-Dialer
8. Spyware Terminator
But with the 2 bolded ones and running a Full system or intelli scan with SD my computer restarts... Or if I turn off automatic restart on system failure... Then I get the BSOD

So run them individually. Really, running scans on multiple programs at the same time is asking for trouble.
IMHO it's not worth PCT's time and effort to try and fix this.
btman

And I don't like waiting hours for scans to finish because my computer becomes considerably slower while running scans. Thats why I run 3 scans and leave the computer overnight to complete them.

Would like to drop in and say bump.
I mainly want this fixed because in a few months when Adaware 2007 and NOD32 V3 and the final version comes out. I will be downloading malware and I like to scan with 3 scans at a time.
I would prefer if I didn't have to run SD on its own. Even though its scan times are reduced... I will be running around 8-12 scans total. Say I run 12... 3 scans at a time = shorter then individual scans.
Should I get the BSOD and write down everything it says?
And I think it might have said something about a BIOS driver??? I'm not sure. Does this help any?

We have run scans with SD, A-Squared & A-Squared Anti-Dialer together but couldn't replicate the error. Could you provide us with your memory dump files?
1. Select [My Computer], right click, and select 'Properties'.
2. Select [Advanced] tab.
3. Click on [Settings] button under 'Startup and Recovery'
4. Select 'Kernel memory dump' in drop-down list under 'Write debugging information' section.
5. The memory dump file will be saved in the location specified in 'Dump file' box under 'Write debugging information' section. (It's usually C:\Windows\Memory.dmp) choose 'Kernel memory dump'.
Once you have this information, could you attach it and email it to me, see PM.

I haven't gotten that to work yet, do i need to have my computer crash and then it will make the file? I searched my entire C drive for a .dmp and only got some things from Kaspersky.

Once it goes into the BSOD it will create this file.
Therefore you will need to get the BSOD screen in order for it to create the memory dump file.
