I'm new to this forum & PC free firewall. Today I downloaded the free firewall program.
When the program started to install into my computer it knocked out my ISP. After completing the installation I could not connect to my service providor. After phoning my SP I was asked to disconnect PC firewall and try to connect my SP....which I did and my SP connected. But in attemping to access the web and my email again I could not gain access. I had to uninstall PC firewall from my computer before I could access both programs.
Can any one help me with this problem. I feel settings need changed but have no idea what needs to be done.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Chippa & Hdavid I read all the info in the thread you sent and it looks like Solcroft, on page 2 has the same problem, modum connection, Windows XP 2nd and connection message "WAM miniport [PPPOE]
I'm not a computer geek & don't have a lot of computer knowledge. I'm just a 73 year old senior who's looking for a simple solution to this problem. I've had to reinstall Kerio for firewall protection and have no connecting problems.
If PCTools firewall is this much trouble to run I guess I should be looking for another firewall or keep Kerio!!

Hi broomhilda,

Few suggestions that might help you.

1. During the installation your connection will be lost. This is because when installing NDIS drivers this is usually what happens. You will need to reboot.

2. I assume that after the reboot, if you are still having the problem. Go to the Filtering rules and untick the last rule (‘All Other Packets’) and then click apply. If the connection is not fixed we will resolve this in the next version.
