I've been trying to modify and/or create filter rules.
when it comes time to enter or modify the filter..i can't change/add the remote ip or local ip. i've left and right clicked on the underlined field, but doesn't give any option to change it. can change all the other fields though.
it's installed on a Win 2k OS and running under Admin account.
do i need to register this to be able to change the IPs?

Your problem is not related to registration. In order to correctly analyze your problem we need more information. When you are trying to create the rule that does not let you change remote/local IP, what are the other values you use (protocol, direction, Ethernet type etc)? Once you provide this information we will try to create the same rule on Win2K OS and see if the problem repeats.

Thanks for the quick reply :D
"TCP : Allow file and printer sharing"
i'm on a LAN and would like to have access to the other PCs and Printer on the network. Only want to add the value "where the remote IP is" i.e. the network range for the LAN or maybe just but the router IP in there. Either way i can't change the undefined value once i check the box.

forgot to mention this.. when i tried creating a rule for the mentioned above, i copied the exact settings of the "TCP Allow: File and printer sharing" and also tried adding the "where remote IP is" again..with the same results.
i thought maybe i couldn't change the filter rule, so i tried making a new one just for the LAN setup
Hope this helps

You are not alone. I have the same behavior:
1 - go to "Filtering Rules"
2 - click "Add" icon
3 - check "where the remote IP is" (this add in the rule description the phrase "where the remote IP is Undefined"
4 - click on "Undefined" and nothing happens (change the color to red when you are over the label, but the click has no effect)
I'm on a W2kPro up-to-date. There is any other info that can help ?

It's kind of nice to see that I'm not alone when it comes to facing a problem like this. At least it proves I'm not crazy.
Yes, I have exactly the same problem: W2K Pro and the latest Firewall Plus just installed two days ago; it won't allow the rest of my network see the machine and when I try to set the IP addresses on a new filter rule or modify an existing one, no amount of clicking on Undefined will produce any results.

Hi,
just installed pc tools firewall plus (1.0.0.10) on a german W2kpro uptodate,
and it works quite well, besides..
As others above, while modifying existing rules or setting up new filtering rules the problem occurs while selecting any of the
"where the remote IP is" or
"where the local IP is".
Selecting the condition isn't yet the problem, but the not-opening  window of choosing the ip-address (-range) while clicking on the
"and where the [local/remote] adress is Undefined"
Funny thing: IPv6-dialogue works well and asks for the address(es), but
i couln't convice my provider and the network department to use
IPv6 instead of IP(v4).. :D
Any help appreciated..

Has there been any resolution to this? I am having the same problem.

The actual version is 2.0.0.9
Do you have the problem with this version ?
With this version I cannot change some predefined rules, but no problem by creating a rule.

This problem is fixed in the version 2.0.0.12. It was a problem with the IP dialog in win2k.
Thank you clweb and hdavid. I installed the new version and got it set up and running with little difficulty.

The problem is supposed to be solved in version 2.0.0.12
If you have 1.0.0.10 I would suggest uninstalling 1.0.0.10 and installing 2.0.0.12
(if you have created your own rules, save them first in another location, its the file Ruleset.rls then you can import the file back)
If you have 2.0.0.9 simple use Smart Update option to upgrade to 2.0.0.12
Please inform us if the problem still exists in 2.0.0.12

in my case the installation of 2.0.0.12 correct this issue.
