Hi, process guard catches swdsvc.exe trying to modify all of my running processes and blocks it, is there any reason for SD to do this? is there a way to turn off this feature?

edit: also SD has decided that nod32 is a virus and has deleted a few key components regardless of weather i added it to the global exclude list, so i have now had to completely disable SD's onguard

Me again, im almost at the point which i wont use Spyware doctor again, its insane, why did pctools update the defs pointing to all nod32 files and registry keys as a backdoor infection? why!

This wasnt happening before anyone mentioned that nod32 thought that spyware doctor was an infection, is this some kind of retaliation?

Either way its frustraiting.

I can definitely understand the frustration, and believe me, I've run into various issues with SD5 (such as now having to restart IE7 often). However, we all need to remember this is a BETA version, so there are going to be bugs, improvements, etc that need to be fixed/made.

If the issues are impacting your work flow, I would recommend switching back to SD4 until they work out all the kinks.

I would revert back to version 4, but the definitions are the same, it would still attempt to destroy nod32's compononents.

Hi twitt,

Thank you for your report. The false detection for NOD32 is a known issue and has been escalated to our Technical Support.

With your Spyware Doctor 5 Beta, could you please send your history file to sd5support@pctools.com?

To send the history in Spyware Doctor 5 Beta:
===================================

1. Open Spyware Doctor 5 Beta
2. Click 'Settings'
3. Select 'History'
4. Click 'Save to File'
5. Select the folder where you want to save the file then type a filename "twitt_sd5log" (The extension should be .html)
6. Attach the file and send it to sd5support@pctools.com

This should help us further to investigate the issue.

Hi All,

Please note that we are trying to rectify this situation with NOD32 asap. We apologize for any inconvenience and this is in no way a retaliation. We will try to have this rectified within the next smart update.

Will keep you posted.

Our MRC has found the problem and will be releasing a new database through Smart Update shortly.

Note this will only fix the problem of the detections by SD, it will not fix NOD32 detecting us which will happen as soon as NOD are able to investigate the problem and release a new DB of their own.

This false positive detection has now been resolved.

Please perform a Smart Update in Spyware Doctor to obtain the latest reference database with the included fix.

Glad to see both partys have now updated their defs, now all we need is an update to fix the opera slowdown issue :D
