SD 5.0 has been in high hopes to fix the problems that SD 4.0 had, the only diffrence that I've seen between SD 4.0 and SD 5.0 is that SD 5.0 loads faster. SD still slows everything down and pretty much intercepts with everything I've tried to do on my PC. I've put up with all the problems that SD 4.0 had in hopes that SD 5.0 would fix everything, but it appears to me that SD 5.0 has just as much as problems as the previous version. SD slows my PC more then anything. I'm starting to think that I've wasted my money on a Anti-Spyware that causes more problem then a Spyware. What good is an Anti-Spyware program if it causes more problems on your PC then Spywares? I know that SD 5.0 is an excellent spyware removal program and is still in the beta stage, but I really wish that the problem can be solved when the official version is released.

Hi kjk8288,

With SDv5 Beta slowing down your computer, issues have been reported of SD slowing down IE|Opera browsers and this will be resolved with the SDv5 release. However, you say that everything is slowing down, could you please elaborate on this? What sort of areas are you having problems with?

Our development team is eagerly awaiting any type of feedback from our subscribers and trial users as we want to make this the most effective, compatible and stable version we have released.

Please let us know this issues you have and hopefully they will all be solved in the final release.

I had the same problem with the older version.
Numerous complaints brought nothing form administartion but, "oh we have never had such a problem".
In anticipation of a correction being made with 5.0 I waited.
Now they are admiting that yes there is a problem.
There still is a problem.
I recieved a response of turning various components off.
Gee, that's like buying a car and removing a window switch.

Hi stuart,

I think this is the whole idea why they've created a brand new build of Spyware Doctor. In my opinion, this build is definitely improved from the previous version Spyware Doctor 4. With the Spyware Doctor 5 Beta release, I'm sure they are working hard to rectify any problems that we as customers may experiencing.

I agree. People really shouldn't get too worked up over the reported issues. That's the whole point of the developers releasing SD 5.0 as a public Beta - to identify problems!!

Now, if those same problems are still present in the final release then that is the time to haul PC Tools over the coals.

As I've said on my post, it slows down pretty much everything. The Internet takes extreamly long to load, I get extream lag when playing video games, and opening any files on my PC takes much longer then it should be. Disabling onGaurd helps alot but removing onGaurd makes spywaredoctor alot less useful.

Are you running any other security products, kjk8288? It's possible there is a conflict between SD and another program. You say you were having the same problems with SD4? Presumably if you disable SD everything is OK?

For it to be slowing down your whole computer is certainly not normal, so there's got to be something causing it.

Also, you can isolate the OnGuard tools to see which tool is slowing down your computer. It might not be all the tools thats slowing it down, but one particular tool.

That proves my point, I see alot of posts telling people to isolate onguard tools but what is the usefulness of all the great functions on SD onguard if you have to disable them?

Disabling the onguard tools one at a time will at least help pinpoint the source of the problem, which hopefully will in turn make it easier for PCT to come up with a solution.

I guess its a workaround for the time being until the issue gets resolved in SDv5.
