i used registry mechanic about 5 days ago on another computer but now it seems that javascript has stopped working properly, javascript links and buttons on websites no longer function and also windows programs such as the search companion and system restore. i have tried uninstalling, and then reinstalling java - to no sucess i was wondering if registry mechanic deleted a regestry key which i need, is there any way of restoring it?

Open Registry Mechanic and select Restore on the left sidebar. Double click on the Automatic Backup item to expand the tree. Restore items related to Java. If you are not sure, restore all items and then reboot. Now check to see if Javascript is working properly.

If you are running XP you could try using System Restore. Select a restore point prior to the problem.

If that doesn't work you may need to run a Repair Install of XP.
