When I SCANDISK ,I get exactly the same errors every time, even if I click repair, ignor and delete .Then next time I do a SCANDISK the same error messages appear in the same spot. therefore I cannot do a defrag.
I have tried SCANdisk in SAFEmode as per another post.
I have SCANDISK on incorrect shutdown enabled also ,this scans without reporting any errors.
Is there a bug in SCANdisk ,or any other software that can do a better job?

You could try Norton System Works you could buy it or you can get it at http://www.tucows.com for a shareware except it would take forever to download. Norton System Works I think has a scandisk and a defragger.

What you want to do is boot your system with the setup disk and your windows cd-rom and and run the scan disk from the floppy. this will allow you to fix all errors, re-boot and you should be fine to de-frag.
