So are you receiving the notification, without any buttons to click on?

Can you re-attach the image?

I found the same problem.

Your form (window) size of your popup is too small... you allowed the very top edge (1 pixel tall) of the yes/no (allow/block) to be viewable and not the remaining amount of buttons.

You have also done this with the registration screen... making only 1 pixel tall of the 3 buttons that are apparently on this screen viewable. I managed to register by process of elimination.

Also on the main screen you have some button? (I am guessing the help button according to your screen shot http://www.pctools.com/res/images/firewall/screenshot.gif) hidden underneath the smart update text in the upper right corner? looks sloppy.

It appears who ever was the last one to build the project was in a little hurry to get home.

Also what is with the key icon? as it does nothing. It sits where your button for smart update sits in your screen shot http://www.pctools.com/res/images/firewall/screenshot.gif

I ended up having to uninstall it last night after only having it on my system for about an hour because it was not up to par. I would be willing to test it later after an update.

BTW I d/l it 28 Jan 07. Tried it on Win 2000, 2003, XP with same results on all.

What it looks like to me is a representation of the Earth with a "Down Arrow" over the lower portion which (IMO) translates into "Update/download from the Internet".

What "key" are you referring to? All I see is the "Smart Update" icon...discussed above.

To rd32701 and dewman,

What resolution is your computer set to? This may be the reason why the display is not right.

Can you get a screenshot of what is actually displayed on your system. As it is difficult to understand what is happening.

Hi All,

The problem you are experiencing with not being able to see the 'Allow', 'Block' display is related to the DPI settings. At the moment the Firewall is only supported by the 96 DPI setting. It appears that your computer is set to 120 DPI.

Please note that this will be fixed in the next version. But as a workaround, please see below:

1. Go to desktop
2. Right click and select properties
3. Choose settings tab
4. Click on advanced button
5. Change DPI settings from 120 to 96 and apply

Hope this information helps

I have the same (no check boxes at bottom of notification and smart update blocking the upper right hand corner of box) posting a screenshot of where the allow/deny check boxes are and the keyboard commands for the actions would let me fly "blind" and try your firewall. I do have and rely on spyware doctor.
thanks
John

I uninstalled, downloaded and reinstalled the firewall. Same problem---no check box to block or allow the application access to the internet. Shift b or shift a did not work, however, clicking on the notification and hitting the spacebar will block the application and clicking on the notification, tabbing twice and hitting the spacebar will allow the application. So I am on the net now with firefox, I checked the firewall with grc.com's shields up and it rates true stealth.
Excellent.

I had the same problem and as I posted here before, found a work around. To give a permission, put your pointer on the noitfication box (which does not have the yes/no check boxes visible) click once, tab twice and hit the space bar. This will give you a yes. tabbing once and hitting the space bar will give you a no. If you have the wrong result, you can remove it from the applications and try again.
