Slow closing of Registry Mechanic

Hi Guys :-)

Whenever I close Registry Mechanic, it takes around 16 seconds for it to close. I don't even have to perform any activity in Registry Mechanic. I just open it, then close it. Then, it waits that long to finally disappear from the screen.

Any clues fellas? My system info is...

1) Windows XP Pro (w/SP2)
2) 4Gb of ram (2.5 Gb recognized by Windows)
3) 74Gb hard drive (primary), 500Gb RAID 0 (secondary)
4) AMD 4800 x2 processor.

Hey bmcfarl,

Is this your first time installing RM? If you have installed it before, did you have this problem.

Ive tried closing RM and it immediately shuts down. Ive also tried running a scan and shutting it down and still shuts down immediately.

Try uninstall/re-install RM in safemode to ensure there are no other applications conflicting with the installation.

See how this goes.

Yeppers. New install. It's a wierd problem to me. I might try the uninstall/re-install under safe mode to see what happens.
