Help - Scanreg /Fix

Prior to a month ago I could run "scanreg /fix" and it would complete. Now the progress bar stops @ 48% and will not advance any further no matter how long it runs. It does the same thing with each of the (4) saved registries when they are restored. When I run "scanreg" it completes and says that there are no errors. I find no problems that are evident in my system. I have run "regedit" but still the problem persists. I have been told that there is no way to make a "new" registry. I have run Norton DiskDoctor, WinDoctor & SystemCheck to no avail. Any help out there? Thanks in advance !!!

If there's nothing wrong with your system, why would you even run scanreg /fix in the first place?

Have you tried running RegClean?
