"free" = $19.95

Last summer I renewed my subscription to Registry Mechanic (ver 5.2) and received a new expiration date of June 12, 2007. The renewal offered a year of "new versions" among the list of benefits. Smart update never informed me that there is now ver 6.0. When I come to this web site, as a registered user I am offered the "free upgrade" for only $19.95. Have I misunderstood something here?

I'm assuming that you are still our current subscriber since you've stated that your current expiration date is June 12, 2007. If you like, you can PM me with your e-mail address and I can double check your subscription status.

If your subscription still active with PC Tools, you do not need to pay $19.95 for the 'free upgrade'. If your subscription has expired, then you will have to renew your subscription in order to get the latest version of Registry Mechanic 6.0.

You can directly download the new version of Registry Mechanic from http://www.pctools.com/registry-mechanic/download/

Once you've downloaded the setup file, simply run rminstall.exe and reinstall Registry Mechanic.

Please note that Registry Mechanic 6.0 upgrade is not available via Smart Update. In order to upgrade you will have to re-download Registry Mechanic from our website and reinstall Registry Mechanic.

Oh! When I attempted to upgrade here at RM website, I entered my license code, saw $19.95, had a panic attack and did not proceed. However I followed your link, downloaded ver 6.0 from the website with a couple of cows and it installed just fine. Actually I wouldn't have minded paying the $19.95, but getting it free is nice! Thank You!!
