I lightly manage and administer some networks that I only have access to either the domain controller, or some type of server on a workgroup. I am looking for some software that will allow me to remotely scan machines from the server, without installing software, and this will be a one time thing. I dont want to have any real time scanning. Or if software needs to be installed, it would be great to be able to do that from the server machine.

Would Spyware Doctor fit this need, or do I need something else? And how would we handle licensing with this?

Firstly what is the Operating System on the Server machine where the software will be installed?

How is licensing handled?

SDE Licenses must first be added to the Server Console before the SDE Client application can be installed onto client computers remotely from the Console. When you download SDE you will receive a 'license.lic' file by email. This file needs to be added to the SDE Console after installation.

This may work but i have some concerns. First of all, is it possible to try out a trial version of this so that I can see if it is something that I want? Also some machines will be using server 2003 64 bit, what options do we have with that?

In regards to the SDE Starter Edition (Trial version)

You can download the SDE Starter Edition from: http://www.pctools.com/spyware-doctor-enterprise/download/

The 'Full Edition' (paid version) of SDE comes with a 12 month subscription which includes software upgrades, updates and of course technical support.

With regards to the different machines you will be testing SDE on, please take note of the Server and Client system requirements below.
