With the networked printer established on the computer system(s) under an administrative password; how can the new user(s) profile have visibility of the networked printer for that computer system, without adding a printer each time the user initial signs on to a computer system.
Inorder to get printers and other setting for every new user that logs in to the workstation for NT 4.0 at least, you need to copy a profile with the printers and all of the setting you want any new user to have to the default user profile. What I typically do is make all of my setting changes that I want in my administrator's account including setting up the printer. Then if you goto the system properties you will see a user profiles tab. Goto it and select the profile you have setup (mine usually is just the computername/adminstrator) and then click the copy to button. Another dialogue box will come up and you browse and go find the default user account folder (usually at c:\winnt\profiles\default user) then click copy. Now all new people who login to that workstation will have the printer and any other settings you setup in that profile.

The problem with this is that only new users are dealt with in this solution. Also what about changing printers subsequently?
