I have been experiencing a reoccurring problem with PC Tools Firewall Plus and avast! Anti-virus. The 2 programs work fine together except when I boot up my computer the firewall asks me if I want to allow avast.setup to have internet access. After saying yes and telling the firewall to remember the choice, I can look at the applications settings and see that avast.setup has indeed been given access. This will repeat the next time I boot up. No other firewall has done this, only PC Tools Firewall Plus. This has got to be a bug in the software and I hope that it gets addressed soon. If not I'll just go back to Comodo.

Thanks for letting us know, we'll add it to the QA test to see what's causing it. I know there is a new version of Firewall Plus coming out early next week which addresses some teething problems, not sure if this one will specifically be resolved at the moment.

Best,

Simon

I have the same problem here. Looking at this avast.setup I realised that it is copied to the setup folder of Avast and erased again after the update procedure. So I think PCTools realises a new program is executing when the avast.setup executes again. Sometimes PCTools remembers the program during a session.
Yes it is the only annoying thing in PCTools, but I think it will be corrected.

Correct, I just learned that when we see the program is deleted it gets removed from the allowed application list, this is to stop it filling up with old, long deleted applications. In this case it's a little different as it must be recreated each time. The developers are now aware of this and will have a look a what we can do to accomodate this scenario; we have a few ideas already.

Thanks
