How can I create a trusted zone for my local network, but ensure that my router is outside it? Firewalls I have used in the past either handle this automatically or provide a selectable option. Up to now I have steered clear of those that rely on (visible) rules as I lack the necessary knowledge.

PS Where is the add sig. option for posts please.

Looking at the logs, it was a rule preventing netbios/udp broadcasting according to the self-contained blurb, and I have circumvented the problem. BUT have I opened up a security risk, and why can't the program sense a local (home) network on setup? What rule should be set?

I don't want to dump the firewall without a fair test, but it does cause me to worry about those that program these things.

I've just stopped the log of that rule. There are too much logs.

In the absence of any response from PCT, and given other limitations at present, I have reluctantly decided to stop using this firewall for now.

If this issue and those raised in other posts are dealt with, I will happily give it a go again.

In this version of the Firewall we do not support zones, also only one adapter is being monitored at a time (by default its the adapter with the public IP). In the near future we will introduce zones + all network adapters will be monitored. A user will be able to set a zone (Trusted, Internet) per adapter and will be able configure the zone rules.
Hope this information helps and sorry for the delay in the response.
