Looking for Spam application for my PC.

Trying to install Spam Monitor on Windows 2000 Sp4 128 MB Ram. Installed fine. Will not execute. No errors. No crash. Just exits. Shows in Task Manager then exits.

Contacted Support:

Received reply from Tjan Raditya

who informed me that since I have not purchased the product there is no support. Why would I not test this first and then if it works then purchase it.

If I would have purchased this, then it won't execute, and not get a refund ... that would ****.

Any ideas? CPU restriction at all.

Spam Monitor 3.0. Did previous Spam Monitor work on 486DX2-66?

Hmmm I was previously a trial user and I received help from support.. maybe try sending in another email to them and see how it goes again?

Its not so much of which Windows operating system or computer spec you're using that matters, but the email client that you use?

I have used spam monitor 2.5 before and it did wonders, the newest version did just as well, with a spyware doctor like graphical interface also.

Could you please PM me your email address as we will further investigate into this problem as soon as possible. Can you also advise us of any other security softwares that may interfere with Spam Monitor. In the mean time you may want to uninstall and reinstall Spam Monitor and see if there is icon located in the system tray which is located at the right bottom hand corner.

The lack of support is not just with trial versions. I purchased Spam Monitor, and it seemed to work fairly well until I updated my Spyware Doctor. I had issues with both Spyware Doctor and Spam Monitor at that point. The only responses I received from PC Tools about correcting the problems told me that updating would solve the issues. Well, the updates caused the problem in the first place.

I updated Spyware Doctor and it seemed to help that program. The beta version 2 worked for me, where the beta version 1 had caused problems. But the moment my Spyware Doctor seemed fixed, my Spam Monitor ceased to work.

It acts like it is trying to work, but it is simply frozen. It freezes up, and thus freezes Outlook Express. At that point, there is no way out of either Spam Monitor -or- Outlook Express, because neither are responding. I have to shut my computer down manually, because it cannot end either program.
I can exit Spam Monitor and then run Outlook Express, but then Outlook Express cannot find my email servers.

I have email from last week that I cannot receive. It's been going on this long because PC Tools will not support the product.

I have looked through the HELP area completely, but it has no answers for this. I have researched the website, but it has no answers for this. I have emailed PC Tools, but they are yet to contact me about this. I have called PC Tools, but they have no technical support people to speak with at the only number given. The person I spoke with at PC Tools did say that he would upgrade my email query to "Urgent."

That means I might get an email reply within the year, rather than never - even though I won't be able to read that email because it will never reach me due to the problem.

Knowing the 2-week period of worries I have been having with PC Tools programs and the miniscule amount of support I have received thus far, I am doubtful I will receive a tele call about my problem.

PC Tools simply does not seem to support their products.

Even the emails I received about fixing Spyware Doctor were canned messages rather than replies to my questions.

I would really like to resolve the Spam Monitor issue, because the program works fairly well when it is working at all.

I would also like to be able to receive and reply to emails that are now a week old.

The support is shameful - enough to warrant telling others NOT to purchase PC Tools programs.

Hi flatlander,

Could you please private message me with your ticket numbers and I will follow this up for you.

Also, please note that there is a known issue with the Email Guard in Spyware Doctor Version 5 Beta. Users are unable to receive emails. This issue is currently being worked on by the developers and should be resolved shortly. For more info, please see:

Incompatability with Email Guard and SAV or any email using the POP3 Protocol

You can always go back to using Spyware Doctor Version 4, until the final version of Spyware Doctor is released.
