Hi,

I currently have Win2000 machines in my organisation, some machines are only used by certain users and only every now and then somebody else uses them.

Does anyone know a reg hack that would leave a specific username in the login box each time the PC was rebooted/logged off? I would like this to be entered as default but users still have the option to delete it and enter their own details.

Thanks,Iain.

Maybe...

Logon with the desired default, or change the value of HKLM\SOFT...\Micro...\WinNT\CV\Winlogon\DefaultUse rName to the desired setting then set permissions on the Winlogon key to be Read-Only for Everyone.

Hmmm...

I gave it a try but each time i reboot the most recent user returns.

I also tried using the AutoLogon but without specifying a password but this means the incorrect password dialog box is displayed each time.

Any more suggestions?
