Hello,

I have a file on my web server with a ".SIS" extension (for example "http://myserver/test.sis").

This file has a binary content.

When a user tries to download this file, by entering URL "http://myserver/test.sis", Internet Explorer displays the content instead of prompting to save to disk.

How can I configure Internet Explorer to save ".SIS" files instead of displaying binary content ?

Thanks !!
James

I am fairly confident this is a client-side problem and not a server-side problem.

The two links below both work perfectly in Mozilla Firefox, (i.e. Firefox correctly prompts to save to disk).

http://myserver/test.sis
http://myserver/test.exe

The ".exe" link works in Internet Exporer (i.e. prompts to save), but the ".sis" link does Not work correctly in Internet Explorer (i.e. it shows binary content).

1. Double-click My Computer, and then click Folder Options on the Tools menu.
2. Click the File Types tab, click a specific file type (for example, SIS file) in the Registered file types box, and then click Advanced.
3. Click to check the Confirm open after download check box, and then click OK.
