network connect problems

I am having a problem connecting to drives that seem to be mapped. From the workstations I can see all the drives on the server but somehow I am not able to connect to them.
Here is the message that I get when I try to connect to the server via the software: the client server could not be located please check your network connection or network admin.

When you say "you see all the drives on the server" what exactly do you mean by this?

Are you trying to connect via a UNC path e.g. \\SERVERNAME\FOLDERSHARENAME ?

Here are some things to condsider/test;

Can you open the shares via \\IPADDRESSOFSERVER\FOLDERSHARENAME?

Can you map only to the drives under an Administrator account?
