hi, i have a preety old 2.4GHz pentium 4 2x512 corsair nvidia mx440.
my computer keeps freezing up, even when im trying to get to my bios, that all happened after i tried to play a really demanding high graphics game.
my cpu starts at 72 deg celcius and goes to 83 deg celcius and freezes.

i wanted to know whats a normal working temp and is the 83 degrees the cause of the freezes
thanks

That is waaaaaay too hot. Yep, that is the cause of the freezes. And by all rights the thing should be shutting down, not just freezing.

Normal temps are 30-50 C.

Sounds like your cpu heatsink has come unseated.

Did we maybe get a little excited during this "really demanding" game and give the computer a blow to the head?
