All my shortcuts have turned into .lnk files. I tried to use RegEdit to change the value for .lnk from no value to linkfile but it always changes back to no value. I've run three different virus programs and Spyware programs so the unit is fairly clean. I've also run a registry repair program, PC MightyMax, but that didn't cure the problem. Is there a solution beside restoring the system??

That's what shortcuts are, .lnk [.LNK] files. Most times the .lnk doesn't show. Do the shortcuts actually work properly, open the programs they are supposed to?
