Hi Im a novice at networking so I was hoping you could help me.

I have 2 machines 1. XP Pro main comp. 2. Win98se old comp. I use #2 as stand alone TV tuner to record a bunch of tv shows. its not connected to the net. I use a KVM switch right now.
I want to move it to a different room.
is it possible to remote desktop into the win98 pc so i can sit at the winxp pc and control the 98 machine. and if so do I use a hub to connect them? thx

They will need to be networked somehow. There are many options...what are you using now?

For remote control of the Win98 machine use VNC. I prefer the TightVNC flavor.

You can dowload RDP client for older versions of Windows including the old dog '98. You will need a network (wired or wireless) if you want to RDP (remote desktop) to the other PC. Or use VNC as mentioned in the previous post.

Good Luck
