Hi,
I have a Windows 2000 domain with around 50 XP clients and all computers take around 3 or 4 minutes to log on. It stops at the loading personal settings screen and a lot of them run extemely slow once logged on and they speed up to normal speed when the LAN cable is disconnected. I'm thinking it is a DNS issue. All the clients seem to be configured with a public DNS server. The forward and reverse DNS lookup zones on the DNS server have the incorrect host name set. I am going to change this and I was wondering if the clients will still be able to work after I have changed the DNS settings or will they experience difficulties? Any help appreciated... Thanks!
