I was trying to install a Netgear Usb adapter. I first loaded the SW. When the install got to the point where I was to shut down and install the HW, I had some trouble shutting down, or perhaps was not patient enough as it was taking a long time. After clicking shutdown several times, the shutdown was completed. I installed the HW and turned the machine on. The HW did not install. I tried to uninstall the SW in order to start over. Control panel add/remove programs and could not remove the SW. As a last resort I deleted the program folder and tried to reinstall the SW. The install wizard tries to uninstall the SW that is not present. I tried editing the registry to remove any reference to Netgear but get the same results. Has anyone run into this problem or have a suggestion of how to remedy?
