I've had two WXP pro. computers on a wired network for a couple of years. At times I'll get on the same workgroup with my laptop via wireless. I've added a 3rd WXP Pro. on a wireless card to the network and workgroup. I can get on the internet from it. I can get into my other 2 machines. My other two see the new computer on the network but can't access it. I have file and print sharing on and I've turned off Windows Firewall. Any suggestions would be appreceiated!

If you can see a machine, but cannot access it: have to do with privileges on the non-accessible machine. Turn on Windows Firewall confidently, it allows file and print sharing in the same LAN by default.
On the other hand, being on an ICS client (a machine capturing ICS), Windows Firewall may require advanced settings (IMHO WF blocks the ICS on the client side by default).

In all conscience, turn on Windows* Firewall on every machine directly connected to the Internet. Specially, on the ICS server (a machine providing ICS), if any.

* edited: turn on arbitrary efficient Firewall (not necessarily Windows Firewall).<P ID="edit"><FONT class="small">Edited by josefz on 08/18/06 22:34.</FONT></P>
