Our webserver runs on windows 2003, and has a shared directory f:\mlspics\myrtlebeach that has 200,000 jpgs in it. If I run the command dir *.jpg locally, it runs perfectly...but if I run it from another computer on the network using a mapped drive, it always failes once or twice (says file not found) before it works, and it also takes alot longer to complete. Any ideas why this is?
Just so you know, there are other directories on the webserver, such as f:\mlspics\columbia, which as 100,000 jpgs, and f:\mlspics\greenville which has 168,000 jpgs...that work just fine.
