I am just at my wit's end with this problem. I have a WXP Home desktop wired into a wireless router, with a WXP Media Center laptop accessing that router wirelessly. The shared Internet connection works great, but I'm having real issues trying to access the desktop from the laptop, and vice versa. If I go to "View Workgroup Computers" on the laptop, I see both computer names but cannot "access" the desktop. If I click "View Workgroup Computers" on the desktop, I can't even see any computer names--I just get an error message. Something about a server list. What can I do?

Did you disable Windows firewall (or any other)?

I disabled Windows firewall. When I disabled ZoneAlarm (which I don't often like to do), I still did not get any results.

Do you have NetBios over TCP-IP enabled on both PC's.

File and print sharing installed on both PC's?

HM, I don't know, I think you broke the interweb. =)
You could try running the network setup wizard or the add network place wizard.

Have had this problem myself.

You cannot access the xp home machine because of authentication.

you will need to run the network setup wizard in network connections CP applet

Haven't tried this but might be worth trying first:

go to folder options on the XP home machine and turn off the 'Use simple file sharing'
this will then let you see the security tab of of folders, then change the NTFS permson drive C:\ to allow everyone 'Read' or what ever.
