This machine has two hardrives, 6gig & 20gig.
Windows 2000 is installed on the 6 gig drive, and the drive is now all but full to capacity.

In order for Winows Update to work, it needs to install updates on the other drive. Not-withstanding any other installations one should choose to undertake.

How do I get Win2000 to use the other drive for all installations???

I have tried editting a couple Registry settings, to no avail....they are located at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/CurrentVersion (ProgramFilesDir) and (CommonFilesDir).
I merely changed the drive letter to correspnd to the larger drive.

However, this wasn't good enough for Windows Update, so I changed them back.

There must be a way to get the machine to install everything on the other drive.......

Help????

Many programs can be installed on a different HDD or partition by choosing Custom then pointing to the location desired.

Most all things dealing with the Operating System HAVE to go in the OS folder on the System/Boot drive, usually C: as defined by the BIOS.

Because of the interweaving of Microsoft Office with Windows, nearly 2/3rds of Office has to go on the same drive as the OS [tried to change it once and found out about that].

You are at the point of needing a larger-capacity HDD to replace the 6GB.
