I am trying to establish a VPN connection between my Win 2000 PRO system at my office and my Win 2000 PRO system at my home. I setup a new Network connection on the Win2k system at the office to accept incoming connections. I setup Win2k at home to connect to the IP address of my router (which has a static WAN IP address).
I setup up my router (a Linksys BEFSR41 v2) to enable IPSec and PPTP passthrough and forwarded port 1723 to the IP address of the office system I want to connect to.
When I try to connect from home to the office I get an error that the connection cannot be established.
Linksys insists that I need VPN software like PC Anywhere.
Do I need separate software?
Any help would be appreciated
