I need to fully erase Windows 2000.
I cant load in my old OS because the Boot to DOS function wont work.
Is there anyway to write zeros to the drive in WIndows 2000? This seems like it would solve my problem.<P ID="edit"><FONT class="small">Edited by e2387 on 06/19/06 12:42.</FONT></P>

Why not just boot to a Win98/98SE/ME boot disk and run FDISK from the A: prompt to delete the partition/s? Then repeat to create a partition as desired.
If you don't have a floppy get the OEM version from <a target="_blank" href=http://www.bootdisk.com>www.bootdisk.com</a>.
Of course this assumes you are not dual-booting Win2000 with one of the others I mentioned.

In the add/remove hardware wizard it says "This device cannot start. Code 10"
The A: drive is not listed in my computer.

If you have a floppy drive perhaps the BIOS isn't picking it up or the setting is for Disabled. That has to be Enabled before the Operating System can deal with it.

I have reinstalled the driver, it is enabled but "cannot start. Code 10"
On reboot F1 has no option to make pick which drive to boot from. I have tried F1 (no option), F2, DEL, and F8. ESC key only freezes the first windows loading bar (before windows large screen icon).
Booting to command prompt is also useless, its not real DOS.
Maybe there is another button to press?

Success! The F1 boot menu is very odd on this compupter, somehow I overlooked the bios many times. Enabled CD rom as first drive.
Thanks for helping!
