windows 2003 login problem -> domain not found! (W2K)

Hi ppl, this is my first post in these forums. I'm running Windows 2003 Server R2. I installed it with no problem, in the licensing part, I chose per server. It has never asked me for any administrator password during installation which was odd to me, but because it's my first time installation, I thought it's just ok! Now that i want to login, I enter "administrator" as my username and then nothing for password (I reset password to empty by some sort of linux program that I tested before on other machines and really worked). it doesn't give me password authentication error, it just says:

The system can not log you on due the following error:
the specified domain either doesn't exist or couldn't be contacted

and I have no option to change any domain or anything! I dunno what to do, how can I tell it I don't want any domain, because really I'm not on any sort of domain right now!
