There used to be some setting where Windows automatically prompted me to disconnect from the internet upon closing my browser window.
Now, I forget how to do this.
Can someone tell me how? I just need to know how to do this so that my family doesn't inadvertently leave the computer connected to the internet too long.

In order to have the disconnect prompt show after you unload IE, you have to check the auto-disconnect option. Go to Internet Options>Connections>Settings. You will see a check box at the bottom with the wording next to it, Disconnect if Idle more than ----- Seconds. You have to check that block and insert a time.
Also under Dial Up Networking, Properties, Configure, Connection, Same box.

i have IE 5.5.
If I set the internet connection to disconnect after several minutes, then Windows does not prompt me to disconnect.
When I had an older version of IE and windows 98, it used to prompt me immediately after I closed my browser.
I still can't get this to work in IE 5.5.
I would like an Immediate prompt......
