I suspect it is a registry thing.... I have perl installed on two different win98 machines. same versions of everything, but SOMETHING is different in the install. When I run a perl script by dble-clicking the script.pl in an explorer window one one machine it runs with the current working dir set to where the script is, and on the other machine it sets the cwd to where perl.exe is!

perl runs in a MS-DOS window, and the window gets opened/closed automatically during the execution of the script. The file association of a .pl on both machines just points to c:\usr\bin\perl.exe so I dont know how to control where the MSDOS window thinks it is opening....

where do I look in the registry?

thanx,

D
