Folks
My keyboard connection to the MotherBoard (MB) has been damaged and will no longer work. I have replaced it with a MS Internet Pro USB version and operate it via software and USB connection. I now have a keyboard. BUT, I cannot access my Bios because the keyboard loads after ROM etc. Is there a REGISTRY entry I can modify or enter to allow the KB to Initialize first in the boot sequence so I can access the bios (the del key)and change the KB options. My sys has win98, Mainboard BCM Triton 430FX Chipset
CPU Cyrix 166 6X86
Bios Award 08/08/95 Triton 2A59CB3HC 00

Thanks for this

Accessing the BIOS setup (Del key) happens lightyears (electronically speaking) before any operating system starts up, and not every operating system has a Registry.
In other words: there is no registry entry to help you, and you will have to gave the keyboard port fixed. J believe this is a PS/2 connector problem (hardware connected / disconnected on a running system).
Second generation motherborads have the USB support for keyboard and mouse already within BIOS.
