View Full Version : A Drive Shot?
This may or may not be reg. related, but, on another machine I have (W95), all of a sudden the A drive requests to format every disk, formatted or not, and after formatting, it tells me that the capacity of the disk is incorrect, or that it is damaged and needs to be replaced. All disks are 1.44 meg. It now refuses to let me do anything with disks, either put stuff on, or take stuff off. Can't even restore now. Really need help with this one. Thanks a million.

Hi Bull, I don't have an answer for that problem, but I do have LOTS of sympathy with it. Win98 (as an upgrade from W95) won't access floppies most of the time; it keeps saying the drive is empty. Funny thing is, DOS has no problem working with floppies. Good luck.

Seems hardware related to me, most likely you need to have the diskette drive replaced.
