I've heard that many people are having registry problems with WMP7 - that it conflicts with some CD burner software. There are solutions to this on the web that involve editing the registry and/or changing a .dll file. (http://www.win98central.com/support/page.php?results=1&doc=1108)

Since I have installed WMP7 my Internet programs don't auto-dial my ISP. My registry looks as if it's still set to auto-dial, so I was wondering; could a .dll file be responsible for all my Internet programs not auto-dialing?

I also find that in JavaScript the play() method doesn't work. Is there any way this can be related too?

Dang sorry, too much time has passed for me to modify my prior post ('been doing a lot of searching for a cure). Anyway...

What does wininet.dll do? Could that be the thing that is "tricking" my system into believing that I am connected to the net at boot-up and always?

Just out of curiosity; have you ever punched the heck out of your furniture because Windows is just too frustrating?

...well, time to get drunk with the family and try to forget about Windows for a couple days.
