My IDE based DVD drive copies to my HDD at 15000KiloBytes/... in Win98 but in XP,at just 4333KBps max. Help ?
I have tried with different configuration systems, drivers,Sony-Samsung-LG-LiteOn DVD Drives, enabling DMA, using 80 counductor IDE cable, XPSP2, autopatcher, GameXP, Intel Application Accelerator(UltraATA Storage Drivers), VIAHyperion4in1 Drivers, Nvidia Nforce5 based MOBOs, SATA HDD's, Bios configurations etc but I couldn't achieve atleast 50% of the theoritical speed on any of the XP systems. I tested the speed using a single 1 GB file from a DVD copied using a (great)utility TotalCopy v1.1 . Windows hides the copy speed information from the users in it's inbuit copying dialog and that's why many people havn't yet realised this problem. I am sure that this is a common problem to most users...
Any valuable advice will be GODly.....
