could you help me please with the virus that I have in my PC. It closes the Taskmanager and at the same time closes my Norton Antivirus. I've already tried using stinger, adaware, spybot and avast antivirus to no avail. They are able to detect other viruses but not this one. I run a hijack log..
could someone please look into this..
thanks..

Did you boot to safe mode before performing spyware and virus scans? Safe mode prevents some baddies to run, so you have better changes to clean your pc. Other trick to make task manager or regedit to work when you have virus is to make temporary copies of them using different names. For example copy regedit.exe to foobar.exe and taskmgr.exe to masktgr.exe. Typical virus or malware doesn't recognize renamed copies of them.

Anyway, you seem to have lot of bad stuff. I'm not expert on this area, so I can give only some hints.

Did you purposely install New.Net? If you didn't, remove it. Here are some entries that I suspect to be virus or other baddies:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Anti-Virus Update Scheduler] C:\ekdve.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [McWindows] C:\WINDOWS\System32\McWin32.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [HTTP] C:\WINDOWS\System32\HTTP.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Windows Desktop Controler] windesktop.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Micrsoft Internet Explorer] IEXPL0RE.EXE
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [win32] C:\WINDOWS\System32\win32.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Microsoft Configure 32] msoftconf.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [cd64] C:\WINDOWS\System32\cd64.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [McDos] C:\WINDOWS\System32\McDos32.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Microsoft Windows Schedule] sched.exe

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Windows Desktop Controler] windesktop.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Microsoft Configure 32] msoftconf.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Microsoft Windows Schedule] sched.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [Windows Desktop Controler] windesktop.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [Micrsoft Internet Explorer] IEXPL0RE.EXE
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [Microsoft Configure 32] msoftconf.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [Microsoft Windows Schedule] sched.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\RunServices: [Windows Desktop Controler] windesktop.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\RunServices: [Microsoft Windows Schedule] sched.exe

O4 - Startup: Reboot.exe

O16 - DPF: {11111111-1111-1111-1111-111111113457} - file://c:\ied_s7.cab

O23 - Service: Microsoft Path Finder Service (mspathfinder) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\mspathfinder (file missing)

You propably have even more baddies that I don't recognize and perhaps some of above are ok. I suspect those above, because I don't have any of them. For example IEXPL0RE.EXE is definetely not a service! Note also that this name contains zero and correct name for Internet Explorer is "IEXPLORE.EXE". That "windesktop" could be ok, but I don't have it and windows doesn't need any desktop controller unless you have installed some special software. "Microsoft Windows Schedule" is most likely bad, because correct name for scheduler is schtasks.exe.

I hope some real specialist can help you more.

Thanks for the help motoflop.

With the NEw.net i really don't know how I got it mbe from a software, freeware or something.
I alredy updated my Norton but still can't get rid of the virus. I tried the scans also during safemode but to no avail.
Could any one tell me any list of virus that may be causing this and any removal tool that may be of help.
I've experienced this before but I was able to get rid of it.
Motoflop, I'll try to get rid of those suspected viruses that you mentioned.
thanks.

u have been, inter alia, ifected with the newdotnet spyware & win32 ratega trojan (delaying the removal of this win32.exe may cause serious harm to your system and will likely cause a number of problems, loss of data, loss of control or leaking private information).

u need to run a GOOD antivirus and atleast 2 GOOD anti-spy in safe mode. i suggest u run ur avast and adaware in safe mode and also schedule a boot time scan of spybot. also use freeware 'ccleaner' to remove ur pc junk.

if this fails use exclnt freeware ewido anti-malware (www.ewido.net) download install update reboot and scan in safe mode. it shud help.
