I have a network drive which I often use to save work on, (It's a drive which is connected to another computer over the network)

When I DISCONNECT the drive (from the context menu within My Computer) it disappears from the list.

Is it possible that I can disconnect from the drive, but have the icon still visable so that I can double-click to RECONNECT to the drive?

It would save me countless time of RE-Mapping a new network drive each time.

Hope you can help

Dan

Wild guess ... have you tried creating a short cut for the icon on the desktop?

Something THAT simple might just work. I'm not able to get to my computer for the next two days, but will be sure to try it out when I'm next at home.

Cheers for your help Tom, you seem to be answering all of my questions that I post on here! :-)

Why are you disconnecting from the drive? Why not just leave it connected?

The drive is on a laptop, when I shut the top of the laptop, windows explorer on the connected computer freezes for about thirty seconds, and then tells me that there was aproblem with the network drive THREE times. It's easier to disconnect, as it doesn't cause any problems. :-)

How about entering it's path in Windows Explorer's Address bar, go to it and then save it as a Favorite?

Or, just go to it via the Start, Run box and it's path will be there the next time you open the Run box.
